Buckeye Half Maraton & 5K

Buckeye Half Marathon & 5K
Hope to see many of you at the Buckeye Half this weekend. No group run scheduled. We will have a new schedule starting on Monday. Remember to sign up for the Akron Marathon!

2008 Zombie Run
This year will be the fourth edition of the famed Zombie Run. This years run will take place on Sunday November 2nd at 7:30 a.m. (This is the first day of post DST, so you will get an extra hour of sleep). My family and I did a walk through yesterday Sept. 1st (The Zombie Walk!) and I can honestly say, running all eight trails is easier than hiking them - it's faster! We will be starting at Furnace Run park in Richfield and strategically working our way back from that point. Next is Deep Lock Quarry, then O'Neil Woods, over to the Nature Realm, to Sand Run (third parking area from Portage Path) and finally to the Gorge parking lot where we can hit three trails from one location (Highbridge, Gorge and Glenns). After that the run moves over to the Original Rockne's on Hudson Drive in Cuyahoga Falls. Total mileage is estimated at 13.6. We have had great turnouts in the past and with Vince's support this has become a must do run for many. By the way doing all eight trails qualifies you for the Summit Metro Parks hiking spree program. First year hikers get a stick and a shield and veteran hikers get a new shield. Non Summit County residents are welcome also, but will have a small fee if you would like to get your stick and shield. Hope you all can make it. Watch for more info here at RunWithEd.com. Until then Happy Trails!
